only makes you dirty!
It's election season. I've seen ads all over my favorite television shows declaring So and So "my state's best candidate."
Really? Someone I don't even know, will never meet, who's public persona may be VERY different than their private one (think about all the affairs, closet dwellers, embezzlers, etc).
I hate politics. All it is, to me, is educated bull shitting. They know how to manipulate words and video so unknowing citizens think they're the person who can get things done. What a load of shit!
First of all, in our nation's type of government, ONE person cannot do things alone...So yeah, no matter who you elect, unless enough candidates who are like minded get elected across the nation, nothing is getting done...
So that sounds a little pessimistic. Yeah, it is. Until we stand up as a one nation (under God (yeah I said it, so?)) and let our voices ring out together it's going to continue to be nothing but "sibling rivalry" between the candidates.
We also have to remember that as a nation, we have made ourselves globally responsible. We monitor hundreds of "situations" in the world that we're aware of, and probably thousands that we're not aware of.
There are a lot of complaints about this, " we can't even clothe, feed, and house our own, yet we've got our hands in (insert random situation here)." Realistically, the world is intertwined. Our economy helps other economies as well as other economies helping our own. Granted, we may need to be more selective on where we throw our money (abroad and at home), but in some cases it needs to be done.
I think that in order to remain a power in the world, though, we need to look at home as well. Before you complain about helping others outside of the U.S. ask yourself, "what have I done to help at home?"
If the answer is "nothing" then shut up!
Politics is the pits!
